How can I remember a large amount of content for longer?
How does Review help you use spaced review?
Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to remember what you've just studied compared to what you learned a long time ago? This is because all learning goes through a forgetting curve.
According to psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus, author of several studies on memory, we:
We forget 42% of what we learn in 20 minutes;
After an hour, we forget 56%;
In 30 days, about 80% of knowledge acquired are lost.
This means that most of the time devoted to studying is simply wasted. In other words, taking the time to remember what you've learned is just as important as taking the time to learn a new subject.
Think about it
What do you remember most easily?
- What did you eat for lunch 2 weeks ago
- The subject you studied last week
- The date of your birth
Check the answer
The date of your birth
In addition to being important information for us, one of the reasons why we easily remember our birth date is because we have already repeated it many times. Whether in conversations with friends, registration forms or in anticipation of a birthday, we repeat this information many times.
That was the conclusion of several scientific researches carried out in the last century, the spaced revision is one of the most effective methods to fight the forgetting curve and to fix the content in the memory for a longer time.
The spaced review, which we call Smart Review, consists of revisiting the studied content at increasing intervals of time. That is, recent learnings are reviewed less frequently than older learnings.
According to studies, intelligent review:
It is more effective than other methods in 96% of cases, according to 317 surveys carried out in different countries.
It makes the memory of the material studied 2900 days ago as strong as the one that appears just seconds after the study.
The time saved compared to other study methods can be up to 300% in just a 2 month period.

As the review interval increases with repetitions, the time taken to review a particular subject will be less and less, which allows you to review a large amount of content.
Review uses data from the forgetfulness curve and automatically calculates the review period for each registered card. The cards will be available on the Review tab when it's time to review them.
It is important to review the cards as they become available. Take time each day to review what you've learned. Doing this saves you a lot of time by not forgetting the content you studied.
When reviewing, ask the question on the card to yourself and answer. After that, you can check the card's response. It is important to answer honestly whether or not you remembered the correct answer so that the review can be adjusted to maximize content retention.
